Postal Prayers I and II - The Collection
These prayers are written amidst the turmoil of 'the great Australian non-binding postal survey on Marriage Equality'.
At the time of writing, I am companioning people who are struggling with hurt, shame, violence and judgment. It is a terrible time for many people, as the worst in many has been revealed.
At such a time, I believe we are called to pray. Not a little, and not just for ourselves.
Intercessory Prayer is a discipline that requires us to sacrifice self for the sake of others. These are short and simple prayers. A few are particularly for YES-voters. Some are for everyone. Some are suitable for people who identify as gay or straight.
If you read a prayer that you cannot pray, please lift up the other pray-ers to God in your heart. Simply pray that God will hear us all and be merciful.
